Over six days, you’ll move your body on a rooftop at sunrise, cook a traditional Oaxacan meal from scratch, watch the sun set over 2,500-year-old Zapotec ruins, hike and swim through dramatic volcanic landscapes, and spend a full day in the artisan village of Teotitlán del Valle with the master craftspeople who have kept these traditions alive for generations.
Some places ask you to slow down. Oaxaca insists on it.

The Experience
Daily rooftop yoga grounds every morning at our home base — the stunning Grana B&B, a One Michelin Key colonial property steps from the Church of Santo Domingo in the heart of Oaxaca City.
A welcome ceremony opens the retreat. A farewell dinner closes it. In between, there is space to breathe, wander, and simply be.
This retreat is a curated journey built around enjoyment, pleasure and remembering the beauty of our sensory experiences as humans.
The Setting
Widely celebrated as the culinary capital of Mexico, Oaxaca is unlike anywhere else in the country. Forget the sprawl of Mexico City — Oaxaca is intimate, walkable, and deeply rooted. Its cobblestone streets wind past baroque churches and colorful facades; its markets overflow with chiles, chocolate, and chapulines; its mezcal is among the finest in the world. Ranked by Travel & Leisure as the #1 city in the world for food, it is a place that feeds you in every sense of the word.

A Day on Retreat in Oaxaca, Mexico
The Table
A walking food tour takes you deep into the city’s vibrant market life — tastings at the best street food stalls, local eateries, and hidden gems that only locals know.
A traditional Oaxacan cooking class begins at the market and ends at the table — you’ll learn to make mole, tamales, and salsas from scratch, then we'll sit down together and enjoy our culinary creations.
Explore
Monte Albán at sunset — one of Mexico’s greatest archaeological sites, perched on a flattened mountaintop above the valley. We enter as the light turns gold, and then close the day with a guided meditation among the ruins.
Hierve el Agua — an early departure into the Sierra Sur mountains for a full day of hiking and swimming at Mexico’s breathtaking petrified waterfalls. A refreshing visit to an artisanal mezcal distillery, guided tour and tasting lunch will ensure all your senses are delighted.
A full day in Teotitlán del Valle — 35 minutes from the city, this world-famous artisan village is home to master candle makers, Zapotec weaving cooperatives, chocolate makers, and silk weaving families whose craft has been passed down for centuries. We spend the day with them.

Strongly influenced by the Buddhist practices of Vipassana and Metta meditation, she invites students to practice with compassionate awareness. Practicing Hatha yoga since 1996, she leads wellness retreats in Northern California and internationally several times a year, weaving together yoga, meditation, and mindful living practices to support transformation and connection. For her, yoga’s deepest gift is connection to our true nature: coming home to the body, connecting to the heart, and resting in a place of peace and presence.
